The Victoria Crosby Young Australian Artist Grant provides $2,000 AUD in direct financial support to one recipient each year to assist with recording, development, or professional growth.

The grant prioritises songwriting, storytelling, authenticity, and potential over polish or commercial success.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be aged 18–25

Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

Be a singer-songwriter performing original material

Artists working in contemporary country-rock or country-pop styles are welcome, provided songwriting and storytelling remain central to their work.

Grant Amount

$2,000 AUD

Personally funded by Victoria Crosby

Paid as a single lump sum to one recipient per year

Use of Funds

Grant funds may be used for:

Recording, mixing, or mastering

Demos or music videos

Instruments or essential gear

Marketing, PR, or distribution

Travel related to recording or performance

Songwriting or professional development

Funds may not be used for:

General living expenses

Alcohol or drugs

Non-music purchases

Application Timeline

Applications open annually during Savannah in the Round week in October commencing 2026

Applications close in late March or early April

Applications are reviewed during April and May

Winner Announcement

The recipient of the Victoria Crosby Young Australian Artist Grant is announced annually on 27 May.

Selection Process

Applications are reviewed by Victoria Crosby, with support from a small advisory group.

The final decision rests solely with Victoria Crosby.
All decisions are final.

Payment & Expectations

The grant is paid as a lump sum following acceptance of terms

Recipients are encouraged, but not required, to acknowledge the grant publicly

Recipients are not required to release music or provide detailed reports
